Summary

This study tested a new program to screen all pregnant women for cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection during their first trimester. It involved over 3,300 pregnant women in Spain to see how many would accept the screening and to track infection rates and pregnancy outcomes. The goal was to gather information to understand if and how a universal screening program could work.
