Summary

This study aimed to understand how common the Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is in the intestines of children, especially those with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) like Crohn's or colitis. Researchers tested tissue and blood samples from 139 children who were already scheduled for a colonoscopy. The goal was to gather knowledge about CMV infection to help improve future diagnosis and care.
