Scientists hunt for hidden clues in blood and skin to unlock future CMT treatments

NCT ID NCT06794489

Summary

This study aims to better understand how Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1A (CMT1A) progresses over time and to find biological markers that can track it. Researchers will follow 75 patients and 25 healthy volunteers for five years, collecting blood and skin samples to identify these markers. The goal is to create better tools for future clinical trials testing new CMT treatments, which are hard to evaluate due to the disease's slow progression.
