Scientists hunt for blood test to predict nerve disease severity in kids

NCT ID NCT07476365

Summary

This study aims to find biological markers in the blood or skin that can predict how severe Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1A (CMT1A) will become. Researchers will study 70 young people aged 10-30 with CMT1A over one year, comparing their health scores with samples from animal models. The goal is to find reliable early signs of disease progression to help future drug trials start treatment sooner.
