New drug duo aims to tame aggressive blood cancer

Summary
This study is testing whether combining two existing cancer drugs, azacitidine and venetoclax, can effectively treat adults with higher-risk chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), a serious blood and bone marrow disorder. The main goals are to see if the combination is safe and if it can reduce the cancer burden and prevent it from worsening or turning into acute leukemia. The trial is for patients who have not received certain prior treatments for their CMML.
