NCT ID NCT06478160
First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special closed-blood sampling device can reduce the amount of blood taken for lab tests in critically ill adults, compared to the usual method of discarding some blood first. About 216 ICU patients with an arterial catheter will take part. The goal is to see if the device lowers the need for red blood cell transfusions and reduces complications like catheter infections or blockages.
