Can better handwriting save lives? study tests prescription clarity for seniors
NCT ID NCT06855017
Summary
This study aimed to find out if changing how prescriptions are written makes them easier for older adults to understand. Researchers asked 64 participants over age 75 to fill a pillbox using two different prescription formats—one 'optimized' for clarity and one with typical variations. The goal was to identify which writing and formatting choices lead to fewer medication errors.
