Scientists test best way to clean invisible brains to fight gum disease

NCT ID NCT07307716

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to clean clear aligners (invisible braces) to help control harmful mouth bacteria and reduce gum inflammation. It will compare three cleaning methods—regular brushing, a special mouthwash, and an oxygen-based cleaner—in 21 adults who wear aligners. Researchers will measure bacteria levels on the aligners and in the mouth, and check for signs of gum irritation over several months.
