Classroom lessons on psychosis: could this reduce stigma in teens?

NCT ID NCT07660874

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a four-session classroom program about psychosis and mental health is practical and well-received by 16-18 year olds in Northern Ireland. Around 120 students will attend the sessions, complete questionnaires, and some will be interviewed. The goal is not to measure effectiveness but to see if a future large-scale trial is possible.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a larger trial testing whether classroom education reduces stigma and improves mental health literacy in teens.

What could go wrong

This is a small feasibility study, not designed to measure effectiveness. The program may not be acceptable to all students or schools, and results may not apply beyond Northern Ireland.
