Promising combo targets rare leukemia in phase 2 trial

Summary
This study tests a two-step treatment for hairy cell leukemia, a rare blood cancer. First, patients receive cladribine chemotherapy to kill cancer cells, then rituximab immunotherapy to help the immune system attack any remaining cells. The goal is to achieve complete remission and reduce the chance of the cancer coming back. The trial enrolls 150 adults, including those whose disease has returned after one prior treatment.
