New heart device aims to cut stroke risk without lifelong pills

Summary
This study tests a device called CLAAS that is implanted to close off a part of the heart (the left atrial appendage) in people with atrial fibrillation. The goal is to reduce stroke risk and allow patients to stop taking long-term blood thinners. About 300 adults at high risk for stroke will be enrolled, and the study will check if the device is safe and works well.
