Pill & exercise combo tested to keep women stronger, longer

NCT ID NCT07143305

Summary

This small, completed pilot study tested whether taking a daily citrulline malate supplement while doing a supervised exercise program could improve physical function and well-being in active older women. Thirty-three women aged 65 and over were randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo while participating in the exercise program. Researchers measured changes in strength, walking ability, balance, blood markers, and quality of life to see if the supplement provided any extra benefit.
