First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether a common antibiotic (ciprofloxacin) injected into skin sores can cure cutaneous leishmaniasis, a parasitic infection. About 80 people with one to seven sores will receive either ciprofloxacin or the standard treatment (sodium stibogluconate). Doctors will check the sores weekly for up to 90 days to see which treatment works better.
