This study tested whether cimetidine, a common heartburn medication, can help people with rare genetic conditions that cause severe, painful reactions to sunlight. 26 participants took the drug to see if it lowered harmful blood chemicals and improved their ability to be outdoors. The goal was to reduce light sensitivity and improve quality of life.
