Tiny study aims to unravel mysteries of stuffy nose disease
NCT ID NCT07528820
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps, a condition causing long-term nasal congestion and breathing problems. Researchers will measure inflammation markers and examine nasal tissue from 10 adults using a steroid spray (budesonide). The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a new cure.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Budesonide (Pulmicort)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could provide a clearer picture of how inflammation and tissue changes drive chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, potentially guiding better treatments.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early observational study with only 10 participants, so results may not apply broadly. It aims to gather knowledge, not test a new treatment.
