Heart surgery pain clue: early nerve pain may signal months of suffering

This study follows 120 adults who have heart bypass surgery to see if nerve pain felt a few days after the operation can predict ongoing chest pain three months later. Researchers will use simple questionnaires to measure pain. The goal is to better understand who is at risk for long-term pain after this common surgery.
