First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at 56 adults with long-term neck pain and compared them to healthy people to see if their heart rate variability (a measure of nervous system health) differs. Participants were tested lying down, sitting, standing, and while squeezing a hand-grip device. The goal was to understand how chronic neck pain might affect the body's automatic functions, not to test a treatment.
