Searching for clues: why headaches linger after childbirth treatment

NCT ID NCT05888324

Summary

This study aims to understand why some women develop long-term chronic headaches after receiving a 'blood patch' treatment for a spinal headache caused by an epidural during childbirth. Researchers will follow 98 women for six months, collecting details about their initial headache, the blood patch procedure, and their recovery. The goal is to identify factors linked to the development of chronic pain to help improve future treatment.
