Scientists probe why bad cholesterol builds up in diabetes
NCT ID NCT02816099
Summary
This study aimed to understand why people with poorly controlled Type-1 diabetes often have high cholesterol. Researchers tested if improving blood sugar levels could fix a problem with a specific protein (apoC1) that helps manage cholesterol. They compared blood samples from over 200 people, including diabetes patients and healthy volunteers, to learn more about this process.
