Wipe away eyelid mites? study tests simple treatment

NCT ID NCT07451678

Summary

This study tested whether cleaning the eyelids twice daily with special wipes containing chlorhexidine could help control a type of blepharitis caused by tiny mites called Demodex. 106 adults with this confirmed condition used the wipes for 8 weeks. Researchers checked if the treatment reduced the number of mites on the eyelashes and improved symptoms like irritation and crusting.
