New cap could shield dialysis patients from dangerous infections
NCT ID NCT07019610
Summary
This study is testing if a special cap containing an antiseptic called chlorhexidine can prevent serious bloodstream infections in people who need dialysis through a central line catheter. Researchers will compare the new caps to standard caps currently used in the hospital. The main goal is to see if this simple device change can reduce infections and improve safety for patients.
