NCT ID NCT07072546

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether applying chitosan (a natural substance from shellfish) and i-PRF (a concentrate from the patient's own blood) can speed up healing and reduce pain after gum graft surgery. 68 healthy adults who needed a gum graft were divided into three groups: one received a standard gelatin sponge, one got chitosan, and one got chitosan with i-PRF. Researchers tracked pain, bleeding, and healing over two months to see which approach worked best.
