Ancient herbs tested in modern battle against stubborn lung disease

NCT ID NCT07295938

Summary

This study is testing whether adding traditional Chinese herbal medicine to standard antibiotic treatment helps more people recover from a persistent lung infection called Mycobacterium abscessus. It will enroll 352 patients who have already started antibiotic treatment. Researchers will compare cure and relapse rates over one year to see if the herbal add-on therapy makes the standard treatment more effective.
