Texting families to fight childhood obesity

Summary
This study is testing whether sending text messages to families can help connect them to a community program designed to prevent childhood obesity. The program, called Building Healthy Families, teaches healthy eating and activity habits. Researchers are working with clinics and community groups to reach 600 lower-income families with children aged 5-12 who are at risk for obesity.
