New hope for stubborn childhood pneumonia? antibiotic trial aims to beat drug resistance
NCT ID NCT07306234
Summary
This study is testing whether the antibiotic doxycycline works better than the standard antibiotic azithromycin for treating a specific type of pneumonia in children. It focuses on children whose infection might not respond to usual medicines. Researchers will compare how quickly each drug reduces fever and check for safety, especially regarding potential tooth discoloration in young children.
