Major trial tests first potential shield for kids against painful Mosquito-Borne virus
NCT ID NCT07003984
Summary
This study aims to see if a new vaccine is safe and can trigger a protective immune response against the chikungunya virus in children aged 1 to under 12. About 720 children will receive either the experimental vaccine or a placebo (a shot with no active ingredient), and researchers will closely monitor them for side effects and measure their antibody levels. The goal is to gather the final evidence needed to potentially make this the first approved vaccine to protect children from this painful, mosquito-borne illness.
