Gum vs. braces pain: simple chew could soothe sore mouths

Summary

This study looks at whether chewing xylitol gum can reduce the discomfort people feel after getting braces. About 60 kids and teens under 18 will take part. Half will chew gum three times a day for a week, and the other half will not chew gum. Everyone will report their pain and comfort levels at several points during that week.
