Chew your way to less braces pain? new study investigates

Summary

This study aims to see if chewing sugar-free gum can reduce the pain and discomfort that often comes with getting braces. It will involve 60 teenagers under 18. Half will chew xylitol gum three times a day after getting their braces, while the other half will not chew gum, to compare their levels of pain and overall experience.
