Summary
This study is testing if chewing sugar-free gum helps people recover faster after stomach or intestinal surgery. It aims to see if gum can help the bowels start working again sooner, which could reduce hospital stays and discomfort. The trial will involve 96 adults having open abdominal surgery at a hospital in Pakistan.
