Study aims to find best method for less noticeable chest tube scars
NCT ID NCT07319572
Summary
This study compares two different ways to close the small wound left after a chest tube is removed. Researchers want to see which method—a traditional 'purse-string' stitch or a newer 'plug' method—leads to a better-looking scar, fewer complications like infection, and higher patient satisfaction. The study will include 246 adults who needed a chest tube for conditions like a collapsed lung or blood in the chest.
