The hidden pain: study probes agony linked to Life-Saving chest tubes
NCT ID NCT07308587
Summary
This study aims to understand how often patients develop a specific type of chronic nerve pain, called intercostal neuralgia, after getting a chest tube for broken ribs from an injury. Researchers will follow 100 adults for three months to track who develops this pain, identify possible risk factors, and see how it affects their sleep, medication use, and overall quality of life. The goal is to gather better information to help future patients.
