Hidden germs on hospital tubes: study probes Post-Surgery infection link
NCT ID NCT07228598
Summary
This study aims to understand how often bacteria form sticky communities called biofilms on chest drains used after lung surgery. Researchers will collect small samples from 180 patients' drains when they are removed to see if these biofilms are linked to infections or antibiotic resistance. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help improve how drains are managed to prevent complications.
