NCT ID NCT07365748
First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether toothbrushes with charcoal-infused bristles collect fewer bacteria than standard nylon ones. Thirty-six healthy adults and children used either a charcoal or nylon toothbrush for one day and one week, then returned them for lab testing. Researchers counted the bacteria on the bristles to see if charcoal helps keep toothbrushes cleaner.
