New monitor could help stop dangerous sugar crashes after gastric bypass
NCT ID NCT07440706
Summary
This study is testing if a wearable continuous glucose monitor (CGM) is better than standard fingerstick checks at spotting low blood sugar in people with 'late dumping syndrome' after gastric bypass surgery. Sixty participants will be randomly assigned to use either the CGM or do fingerstick checks for 60 days. The goal is to see if the CGM helps people catch and manage these sudden sugar drops more effectively, improving safety and quality of life.
