Scientists probe gene regulation in male fertility and cystic fibrosis

NCT ID NCT06045702

First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This observational study uses leftover tissue from planned surgeries to grow epididymal cells in the lab. Researchers aim to understand how the CFTR gene is organized and regulated in these cells, which may help explain male infertility linked to cystic fibrosis. About 20 men with or without genetic conditions will participate, and no extra procedures are needed.
