First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) could help doctors more quickly and accurately find polyps (small growths) in the bowel using videos from a tiny camera swallowed as a pill. Over 720 adults took part, and the AI tool was compared to standard doctor review. The goal was to improve detection of potential signs of bowel cancer.
