Neck massage and joint moves may ease stubborn headaches

NCT ID NCT07310823

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether combining two gentle manual therapies—suboccipital myofascial release (a type of neck muscle massage) and Maitland mobilization (slow, controlled joint movements)—can quickly reduce headache pain, how often headaches happen, and how long they last. Researchers will measure these effects right after treatment and one week later in 57 adults aged 20–40 who have cervicogenic headache (headache caused by neck problems). The goal is to find a simple, drug-free way to ease this type of headache.
