Can stretching the neck really ease nerve pain? new study tests popular therapy
NCT ID NCT05952167
Summary
This study aims to find out if an intensive course of cervical traction (gentle stretching of the neck) provides specific pain relief for people with cervical radiculopathy, a condition where a pinched nerve in the neck causes pain and weakness down the arm. Researchers will compare a real traction protocol to a placebo (fake) traction protocol in 206 participants to see which is better at reducing disability. The goal is to provide clearer evidence to guide physical therapy treatments for this common condition.
