NCT ID NCT07241611

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a flap of tissue from the neck (cervical fascia) over the closure line of the throat could help it heal better and lower the chance of a leak (pharyngocutaneous fistula) after total laryngectomy. The study included 50 people who had advanced laryngeal cancer and needed their larynx removed. The main goal was to see if this extra flap reduces the number of leaks after surgery.
