At-Home test could unlock lifesaving cancer screening for millions of older women

NCT ID NCT07244315

Summary

This study tested a two-step screening method to better detect cervical cancer in women aged 50-65 in Cameroon. About 500 women first used a simple, at-home HPV test. Those who tested positive then had a follow-up Pap smear to check for precancerous cells. The goal was to see if this approach is accurate and practical for use in areas with limited medical resources.
