New radiation technique tested as alternative for cervical cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT06560697

Summary

This study is comparing two different ways to deliver a final, targeted radiation boost after standard chemotherapy and radiation for locally advanced cervical cancer. Researchers want to see if a newer, non-invasive technique called stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is as safe and effective as the current standard, which is an internal radiation procedure called brachytherapy. The goal is to provide a new treatment option for hospitals that cannot offer brachytherapy.
