Lab-Grown 'Mini Tumors' could spare cervical cancer patients from harsh treatments

NCT ID NCT07248878

First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study takes small tissue samples (biopsies) from 24 women with cervical cancer and grows them into 'organoids' – tiny 3D copies of the tumor in a dish. The goal is to use these organoids to test which drugs work best for each patient, potentially avoiding unnecessary radiation or chemotherapy. No new treatment is given; the study only observes and analyzes the tumor models.
