New combo therapy aims to beat staph blood infections

Summary

This study tests whether adding ertapenem to the standard antibiotic cefazolin helps adults with a serious staph bloodstream infection (MSSA) recover faster. About 60 participants will receive either the combo or standard care. The goal is to see if the combination clears the infection and improves survival.
