Summary
This study compares two methods used during carotid artery surgery to detect when blood flow to the brain drops too low. One method involves keeping the patient awake and checking their brain function, while the other uses a special light device on the forehead. The goal is to see if the light device works just as well as the awake check. The study includes 160 patients with narrowed carotid arteries.
