Scientists zap specific brain areas to unlock Autism's secrets

NCT ID NCT05396352

Summary

This research study aims to understand how stimulating two specific areas of the cerebellum (a part of the brain) affects social skills and flexible thinking. Researchers will use non-invasive brain stimulation and MRI scans on 80 young adults, both with and without autism, to see how these brain areas work. The goal is to gather knowledge about the brain mechanisms behind autism, which could inform future treatments.
