Heart hospital tests simple powder to stop bleeding under IV dressings
NCT ID NCT06451185
Summary
This study is comparing two ways to dress a central line, a common IV tube placed in the neck for surgery patients. Researchers want to see if adding a special clotting powder under the standard clear bandage helps the dressing stay on longer and reduces bleeding. They will monitor 450 heart surgery patients to see which dressing method works better at keeping the site clean and dry for up to a week.
