Breakthrough drug trial aims to rescue patients from fatal shock

NCT ID NCT05251181

Summary

This study is testing whether adding an experimental drug called centhaquine to standard emergency treatment can help save more lives from severe shock caused by major blood loss. Researchers will enroll 430 critically ill adults with dangerously low blood pressure to see if centhaquine improves 28-day survival and reduces the need for massive blood transfusions. The drug aims to help stabilize blood circulation more effectively than current treatments alone.
