Scientists probe why Last-Resort antibiotic fails against superbug
NCT ID NCT07475429
Summary
This is a laboratory study, not a treatment trial. Researchers will collect bacteria samples from 100 patients infected with a dangerous, hard-to-treat strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae. They aim to understand why some of these bacteria are resistant to the antibiotic cefiderocol, a last-resort drug, by looking for specific genes.
