New antibiotic dosing method could slash surgery infections

Summary

This study compares two ways of giving the antibiotic cefazolin during orthopedic surgery to see which better prevents surgical site infections. About 100 adults having major orthopedic surgery will be randomly assigned to receive the drug as a continuous drip or as standard intermittent shots. The goal is to find a more effective way to protect patients from post-surgery infections.
