First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding ertapenem to the standard antibiotic cefazolin helps adults with methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) bloodstream infections recover faster. About 60 participants will receive either the combination or standard care. The goal is to see if the combo clears the infection and improves survival without needing lifelong medication.
